The Museum has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to join the Collection Care and Management team as the Large Technology Conservator. The Large Technology Conservation Lab supports the strategic endeavour of the National Museum of Australia to become a recognised world class museum. The incumbent will be part of a small team, reporting to the Senior Large Technology Conservator in a busy and dynamic environment. The position will oversee the day to day care and management of the workshop and associated facilities and equipment, undertake procurement duties, maintain hygiene and safety compliance and standards and assist with maintenance and conservation treatments of both functioning and non-functioning large technology. The successful candidate will also be required to conduct work associated with large technology for exhibitions and displays, including movements, mount assessments, installation and occasional public program events and travel.

The position entails working closely with conservation and registration colleagues, a broad range of internal stakeholders across the organisation, external clients, volunteers and contractors on a variety of matters relating to the large technology collection.
