Auckland Museum is a much-loved culture and heritage organisation at the heart of Auckland’s identity, committed to outstanding management of its world-class collections and the employees and volunteers who tell the Museum’s stories. We are Auckland’s home of commemoration as well as the country’s oldest research institution and a major tourist destination.

Auckland Museum is seeking a Lead Executive Assistant. This is a key position, providing executive assistance to the Chief Executive, Management of the executive support team, Office Manager for the Broadway office, and owner of a number of key processes and systems.

The successful applicant will be an experienced Executive Assistant and manager, a great communicator and have the proven abilities to manage in a complex environment with competing priorities and drivers.

To be successful in this role, you will offer:

  • A minimum of 5 years work experience with executive support
  • Previous management experience
  • A high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise workloads of both self and others
  • Previous experience in the Arts/Cultural/Heritage/Tourism sector is desirable
  • Previous experience with working with Boards would be an advantage
