We are currently advertising the following vacancies:
Level 2 – Learning and Engagement Assistant
There are currently three (3) permanent part-time positions available for up to 52.5 hours per fortnight.
Level 3 – Learning and Engagement Supervisor
One (1) full-time position.
Applicants deemed suitable will be placed into a pool which will run for
18 months, where appointments may be considered for similar vacancies for full-time, part-time, casual, fixed term or permanency.
Conditions
Successful applicants will be required to provide a current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate. Additionally, a Working With Children Clearance will be required before beginning employment.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the Culture and Arts Portfolio and/or the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered – permanent and fixed term, part-time, full time and casual.
Job Description
The Learning and Engagement Assistant and Supervisor roles assist in developing high-quality public programs, experiences and resources relating to the Western Australian Museum. The roles play an active role in the creation and delivery of experiences that enhance the museum visit.
The Learning and Engagement Supervisor also plays an active role in the supervision, scheduling, rostering and training for Learning and Engagement staff.
Essential Work related requirements
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and evaluating high-quality public programs, experiences and resources in a Museum or other learning environment.
- Strong communication and dynamic presentation skills, with extensive industry experience presenting high-quality programs to diverse audiences
- Proven relevant management and/or administration skills
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated knowledge of one or more of the following subject areas: Science, Western Australian history, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures, Digital technologies, Innovation and design thinking.
