Auckland Museum is an influential, much-loved organisation at the centre of Auckland’s identity, committed to developing and sharing engaging content through its galleries, exhibitions, events and educational programmes.

This is an exceptional opportunity; the successful candidate will bring with them learning expertise and strategic thinking to oversee innovative, engaging, and relevant learning experiences for diverse audiences. This role will be key to enabling the museum to develop its role in the Auckland learning ecosystem through becoming an innovative and compelling GLAM education leader.

They will be responsible for the development and delivery of an integrated education programme that is strong at our core, shared and connected through digital channels, and alive in Auckland communities.

The Learning Manager is an advocate for the museum locally, regionally, and nationally and will possess a high degree of integrity and professionalism.

Key accountabilities include;

  • Leading and managing the development and delivery of inspirational and transformational best practice GLAM sector education programmes.
  • Working with the education team to integrate creativity, pedagogical expertise and community participation into the programme.
  • Ensuring the Māori Dimension (He Korahi Māori) and Pacific Dimension (Teu le Vā) are embedded into education programmes.
