This is an exciting opportunity to join the Queensland Museum Network (QMN), to work on a collaborative project focused on improving regional community participation and student performance in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). Within this role you will support the Lifelong Learning team by leading the delivery of STEM programming relating to the Future Makers STEM Education project. You will conceptualise, develop, implement and evaluate STEM initiatives including community activities, education and teacher professional development (TPD) programs designed to engage and inspire teachers, students and regional communities, and which support QMN’s vision, and strategic and operational direction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operational management of STEM education and community engagement programs relating to the Future Makers project including:
- Supervision of the activities of the Learning Officer, Future Makers; and
- Management of the development and delivery of STEM TPD, education and community engagement programs, ensuring that these activities fulfil the objectives of the Future Makers project and the QMN lifelong learning engagement strategy; and
- Manage the allocation of resources, both financial and human, to achieve agreed project outcomes in accordance with the approved plan and budget.
- With the Learning Officer, Future Makers, develop and deliver community engagement programs, as well as STEM TPD programs and online resources for specific Future Makers events and initiatives that connect QMN research and collections with Australian Curriculum.
- Ensure project management methodology is applied to the development and delivery of Future Makers activities, including the preparation of project documentation and reports, ensuring effective use of staff time and operational budget resources attached to the program.
- Develop and implement strategies, programs and procedures for the provision of continuous improvement in quality customer service and stakeholder management
- Collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders to promote Museum learning and education, engage new regional audiences and increase Future Makers program participation, generate learning partnerships, drive and influence QMN lifelong learning agenda, and ensure the delivery of learning outcomes associated with the Future Makers STEM education project.
- Contribute to and edit marketing and promotional material for use in Future Makers EDMs, websites, program signage and published resources
- Contribute to a supportive and innovative team culture through effective self, peer and program evaluation, timely giving and receiving of feedback and positive problem-solving.
- Ensure QMN workplace health and safety systems, planning, procedures, training, resourcing and culture is in place, adopted and embraced by staff while taking all safety measures when performing your duties.
