The Learning team at the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) plays an important role in providing professionally led Learning programs to over 80,000 students and teachers per year.  We are looking for an innovative educator to assist in the development, delivery and evaluation of onsite and online schools programs in line with the ethos of the museum.

As a Learning Officer, you will need to enjoy working with diverse school students of all ages and have a strong empathy for the vision and purpose of MoAD.  This job may also require you to work collaboratively to provide professional development with other educators including teachers and the tertiary sector.

The Museum is open 364 days per year. At times, you may be required to work after hours and on the weekend.

Duties

  1. Design, develop and implement high quality learning programs for school students visiting the Museum in an onsite and online capacity.
  2. Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for team members, particularly those involved in delivery of onsite learning programs in a museum/heritage environment.
  3. Provide administrative support; supervise projects and represent MoAD at conferences and meetings as required.
  4. Assist curatorial and other museum staff in the development of public programs and interpretation, which support museum learning.
  5. Contribute to the review of programs including curriculum education, online programming and professional development for educators.

Eligibility
The successful applicant must be an Australian Citizen, be willing to undergo and maintain an Australian Government security clearance at the baseline level and secure and maintain a Working with Vulnerable People registration.
