As a Learning Officer, Science Centre in the Queensland Museum Network (QMN) you will conceptualise, develop, implement and evaluate a range of learning programs that engage our diverse visitors including school groups and support QMN’s vision, and strategic and operational direction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate inquiry learning and design thinking for visitors through on-gallery exhibit engagement, performance of Science theatre shows, STEM demonstrations and Maker Space facilitation.
- Design, develop and implement work plans for the delivery and evaluation of STEM learning programs that align with QMN’s vision, and strategic and operational direction.
- Develop and deliver learning programs and online resources that connect unique Science Centre and QMN experiences with Australian Curriculum. Engage with educational professionals around the use of the Science Centre, museum collection and QMN’s learning resources.
- Manage, mentor, coach and train volunteers involved in Lifelong Learning program delivery.
- Contribute to a supportive and innovative team culture through effective self, peer and program evaluation, timely giving and receiving of feedback and positive problem solving.
- Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve program outcomes.
- Develop and deliver effective Lifelong Learning programs within a Science Centre and Museum context by applying informal and/or formal learning strategies.
- Contribute to safety culture at QMN by reporting all incidents and hazards and ensuring work is undertaken in the safest way possible, following all QMN WHS policies and/or procedures and guidelines relevant to the job.
- Comply with QMN’s policies and procedures (including approval processes) and Government legislation.
