THE OPPORTUNITY:
Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a Legacy Registration Officer, Sciences Collections to physically and electronically register minimum data sets of selected Natural Sciences components of the State Collection. Electronic registration will include a barcode and where appropriate an image of each item.
Working alongside the Manager, Natural Sciences Collections, key duties of this role include:
- Physical registration of selected Natural Sciences specimens in the State Collection, adhering to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
- Electronic registration of defined basic data sets for selected Natural Sciences specimens in the State Collection, adhering to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
- Application of a barcode and where appropriate electronic image capture and associated data of Natural Sciences specimens, adhering to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
- Handle selected Natural Sciences specimens in the State Collection, adhering to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
- Consult with relevant curators and collection managers to capture accurate basic data for selected Natural Sciences specimens of the State Collection.
