Join ACMI’s Legal Team as a Legal Advisor and work on a broad range of commercial law matters. This ongoing full-time role collaborates across ACMI to advise on general commercial law matters and intellectual property rights plus compliance obligations. Working with ACMI’s Chief Counsel the Legal Advisor manages copyright licensing and assess copyright usage. This role provides copyright awareness and contracts training for ACMI’s staff and manages the Legal Team’s systems.
Our ideal team member will have a Bachelor of Law or equivalent legal qualification from a recognised tertiary institution and admission to practice as an Australian Lawyer (or eligibility to gain admission). With a current practising certificate under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (or eligibility to obtain a practising certificate) you’ll have post qualification experience as a lawyer. Ideally you’ll have experience in the film and television or arts sector with strong knowledge of copyright. Your commercial acumen, great communication skills and attention to detail enable you to manage stakeholder expectations and provide pragmatic legal advice. With a demonstrated ability to prioritise activities you enjoy working collaboratively, independently and meeting deadlines.
If successful you can expect to become part of a talented, committed and creative team of people with a passion for screen culture. This Grade 4 role is offered with a salary range of $90,067-$102,192, depending on experience, plus super. You’ll work a mix of WFH and from Federation Square.
