ABOUT THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of the Legal and Planning Officer will be to co-ordinate Museums Victoria’s contract review and administration system, including the review of standard contract, maintenance of the contract register, liaising with contract managers and tracking and updating of files. Additionally the role will be responsible for administrative support for the Board Secretarial functions and to assist with planning and reporting activities as required.
Notable skills and experiences:
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of high-level support to a board or board sub-committee, including the preparation of reports and agendas, accurate minute-taking, and appropriate handling of sensitive information.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and continuously improve administrative and communication processes.
- Good understanding of the role of contracts within business and the capability to review standard contracts under limited supervision.
- Well-developed interpersonal, representation and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate, influence and negotiate effectively at all levels and a proven capacity to develop effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise and organise work and to meet deadlines, with highly-refined attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a team environment.
- The successful applicant is required to obtain, and meet the cost of, a National Police Record check prior to commencing employment and be assessed as suitable for employment.
OTHER INFORMATION
This is a full time contract position for 10 months from April 2017 until February 2018. The salary on offer is $63,629 (pro rata) + 9.5% superannuation.
