The Museum has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and highly organised person to undertake the duties of Legal and Policy Officer.
The key duties of the position include:
The position reports directly to the Manager, Governance and Legal Services, and is responsible for a range of activities including, but not limited to:
- Providing accurate, appropriate and timely legal advice on a broad range of matters including procurement, privacy, legal title/acquisitions and contracts
- Undertaking legal research or other legal support work
- Developing legal awareness training materials and running workshops
- Reviewing and developing Museum policies and procedures for which Governance and Legal Services is the responsible Business Unit
- Maintaining the policies and procedures register, and providing guidance to business unit managers on the process for revision and development of Museum policies and procedures
- Assisting with governance priority tasks, as required.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this vacancy, applicants must:

– have a law degree from an Australian tertiary institution or equivalent
