Sydney Living Museums (SLM) cares for a group of 12 of the most important historic houses, gardens and museums in NSW on behalf of the people of NSW.

What you’ll do with us
This role contributes to the development of online access to Sydney Living Museum’s research collections through the creation of full bibliographic records for material across all formats held within the Caroline Simpson Library & Research Collection (CSL&RC).
What the essential requirements of the role are:

Qualifications acceptable for library technician membership of the Australian Library and Information Association or equivalent experience and qualifications.

Experience in automated library environments, particularly in the area of cataloguing and metadata creation.

In-depth knowledge of the principles and application of complex procedures, policies and international standards for bibliographic control including MARC21, DDC, LCSH, AACR2 and RDA and knowledge of other metadata schemas.

Experience in identifying relevant metadata from Libraries Australia and other online databases.

Ability to synthesize descriptive and other information data into succinct, user-friendly catalogue records.

Ability to coordinate and prioritise own work across a number of tasks.

Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively on an individual basis or cooperatively as a member of a team.
