About Lizard Island 

We are searching for two people who are interested in living and working in a small scientific community on beautiful Lizard Island on the Great Barrier Reef.

The Australian Museum is a NSW government institution that is a leading Sydney attraction and a hub of information, resources and research.

Lizard Island Research Station (LIRS) is owned by the Australian Museum and was established in 1973 to provide a facility for coral reef research. It is located on the northern part of the Great Barrier Reef, about 270 km north of Cairns.

LIRS is a world-leading supplier of on-reef facilities for coral reef research and education. Each year, LIRS supports about 100 research projects with visits by about 350 researchers and their assistants. As well, several student groups of up 22 people visit each year. The Station can accommodate up to 37 visitors and it is often full.

About the Role 

Maintain all buildings and equipment at the Lizard Island Research Station, to ensure a productive and safe environment for visitors
