Te Papa is looking for an experienced imaging professional to lead our large-scale collection digitisation programme.
This will be an exciting period of work at Te Papa as we accelerate the digitisation of our collections and innovate in how we create and make digital collections more accessible.
This role will include:
- Establishing and leading the collection digitisation work programme
- Establishing new imaging workflows that help produce high quality digital collections, quickly and efficiently
- Managing a team of five responsible for delivery of the imaging components of the collection digitisation programme
- Implementing new approaches to imaging collections, including 3D techniques
We are looking for someone with:
- A minimum of five years’ experience, knowledge and skills associated with digital imaging and best practice digital image management, preferably in a museum, gallery, archive, heritage library or comparable environment
- People management experience
- Knowledge and understanding of collection management processes, digital asset management, archival practice and rights management
- Experience of co-ordinating projects with proven ability to execute project development, design and delivery within schedules and budget
- Great interpersonal and team building skills, with proven ability to lead and inspire an internal team
- Demonstrated experience of innovation in relation to digital imaging
