Museums Victoria is seeking a Manager, Digital Media Systems to lead and develop the Digital Media Systems unit in its day to day and longer term operations and initiatives. The role will provide specialised technical services to enable the delivery of digital media in exhibitions, public spaces and programs overseeing the installation, operation, maintenance and development of technical infrastructure. ABOUT THE POSITION:

The position is accountable for the daily management of the Digital Media Systems unit and the development, implementation, maintenance and operation of digital media, audio visual, digital signage and media control systems across all Museums Victoria venues including exhibitions, public spaces, programs and the Melbourne Planetarium systems.

Notable skills and experiences:

  1. Extensive experience with digital media delivery systems including a thorough working knowledge of computer systems, networking, digital media formats, standards and their application in a museum or public environment.
  2. Broad experience in leading and managing a team of staff, managing operations, budgets, prioritising work, performance management and stakeholder relations.
  3. Demonstrated experience in the leadership and delivery of quality, customer focused projects using a team based, project management approach. Experience working within the context of a museum or other cultural organisation is desirable.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a local and broader team, providing leadership, defining unit goals and contributing to strategic objectives.
  5. Knowledge of current trends and developments within the field of digital multimedia and an established network of industry related contacts.
  6. Demonstrated experience in the establishment and preparation of technical and user documentation, project briefs, reporting and the presentation to senior management and other stakeholders.
  7. Communication and interpersonal skills of a high order, including the ability to liaise with staff, contractors and external stakeholders; resolve conflicts in a positive manner and a highly developed customer service focus.
  8. A sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements and practices and demonstrated experience of the application of risk analysis and control measures to provide a safe environment.
