As head of human resources at the Queensland Museum Network (QMN) you will be accountable for managing and implementing a range of strategic human resources and organisational development initiatives that support the achievement of QMNs strategic objectives. You will be accountable for identifying and implementing strategic solutions to meet business and cultural development needs of QMN.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic and operational advice and services to the QMN executive and managers across the full range of human resources and organisational development activities by utilising highly developed human resources, organisational development, employee relations and internal consulting knowledge and experience. Areas of focus include organisational culture, capability development, employee performance, organisational change, human resources processes, recruitment and selection, establishment and human resources projects.
- Develop strong partnerships with business leaders to ensure that human resources related issues are identified and managed in a proactive way. Coach leaders in contemporary people leadership including employee development, performance planning, talent management and change management.
- Accountable for the ongoing review of the human resources framework to achieve simplified, easy to interpret and apply human resources policies, procedures, process maps, information documents and forms. Ensure that the Intranet design enables users to readily locate relevant human resources documents. Monitor the use of human resources systems and processes to ensure they are working effectively.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance QMN organisational culture including the management of the annual Working for Queensland Survey process to ensure a high participation rate, communication of results, and the development and implementation of action planning. Manage the implementation of contemporary tools and processes to support leaders and managers in the achievement of a high performing organisational culture.
- Develop and implement succession planning, talent management and workforce planning processes to ensure ongoing workforce capability.
- Manage and undertake human resources and organisational development projects ensuring that outcomes or recommendations are developed following business consultation, recognise commercial reality, reflect contemporary human resources and organisational practices, and are appropriate for organisational size.
- Ensure awareness of professional development opportunities through promotion of the learning and development framework and related processes.
- Ensure human resources governance requirements are met including performance planning, employment screening checks, mandatory training, position descriptions and volunteer agreements.
- Manage the relationship our strategic partner (Corporate Administration Agency) to ensure the delivery of human resources services.
- Manage the relationship with the Together union and workplace delegates recognising their role as a key stakeholder in the area of human resources and organisational development. Manage human resources/industrial relations input to the Agency Consultative Committee.
- Develop briefs for the Executive Leadership Team (and present as required) on human resources issues.
- Manage the human resources budget.
- Contribute to the safety culture of QMN by reporting all incidents and hazards and ensuring work is undertaken in the safest way possible, following all QMN WHS policies and/or procedures and guidelines relevant to the job.
