The position is accountable for delivering the collection risk assessment and management initiative, ensuring the identification and management other risks to the State Collections, and integrating and improving the processes for the management of the collections.
Notable skill sets required for this position include:
- Significant experience in and knowledge of large, multi-disciplinary collections similar to Museums Victoria’s, and the issues and practices of their management
- Significant knowledge of and experience in risk management frameworks and approaches to the care and preservation of collections
- Experience in developing collection management processes
- Proven research and analytical skills
- Good level of numeracy, including a basic understanding of statistical and sampling techniques for testing populations in any field
- Experience in electronically managing and manipulating a customised collection database
