Sovereign Hill is a dynamic group of museums presenting the mining, social, cultural and environmental heritage of the Ballarat region and its impact on Australia’s history. The Commercial Operations Department comprises of Retail outlets, both internal and external to the Museum, Comfort Inn Sovereign Hill, Front Entrance, Blood on the Southern Cross (BOSC) and the Sovereign Hill Inventory Store and Warehouse.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Manager Museum Retail Operations to join our retail team in this newly developed role. The Manager Museum Retail Operations is responsible overseeing and coordinating departmental activities and leading retail staff in the Museum with a focus on service excellence, interpretation and presentation. To be successful in this role we are looking for individuals who have:
- Proven experience in managing a retail or customer service environment • Experience managing multiple sites would be an advantage
- Prior use of rostering programs
- A genuine desire to work alongside your team and be on the floor coaching performance • Strong problem solving skills
- First-class initiative
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
