About the Australian Museum
The Australian Museum (AM) operates within the NSW Department of Justice and was founded in 1827 and is the first museum in Australia. The AM provides access, engagement and scientific research to increase our understanding of natural history and culture, particularly of the Australasian region. The AM holds more than 18 million objects of biological, geological and cultural collections and develops programs, exhibitions and school and community education initiatives onsite, online and offsite. About the role
Lead and oversee the development, maintenance and preservation of the Australian Museum’s Pacific Collection, engaging with communities across Australia and the Pacific, and developing strategies to build on culturally significant historical and contemporary collections to ensure objects are relevant and accurately represent communities in line with the Museum’s strategic plan.
