The SA Museum is looking for an experienced and dynamic project manager to develop and implement a diverse and exciting program of exhibitions and events. Working with a wide range of institutions, organisations and individuals the Manager, Projects and Programs is responsible for the coordination and delivery of high-quality exhibitions, collection displays and major events both onsite and offsite, as part of the Museum’s outreach programming. Reporting to the Deputy Director, Engagement this position will lead the initiation, planning, development, implementation and evaluation of relevant, engaging, and inspiring projects and programs that connect the Museum with its audiences and in line with the SA Museum 2021-2025 Strategic Plan. The incumbent will have responsibility for the leadership and management of a team and will oversee exhibitions, gallery upgrades and major events from concept to completion and will apply sound project and financial management ensure that they are delivered within agreed parameters.

Special Conditions

  • The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department’s Performance Management Program.
  • The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
  • This role requires a Working with Children Check.
  • This role requires a National Criminal History Check.
  • The position will require out of hours and weekend work from time to time.
  • Some interstate travel involving overnight absences will be required.
