Museums Victoria is seeking a Manager, Security and Emergency Management to provide strategic, professional and cost effective management of the security and emergency management operations across Museums Victoria’s (MV) property portfolio including Melbourne Museum, Royal Exhibition Building, Scienceworks, Simcock Avenue, Immigration Museum and Moreland Annexe. The position is accountable for strategically assessing, minimising and managing the security and emergency risks to which MV is exposed, or may be exposed in the future. This will entail overseeing, drafting and advising on security risk management policies, procedures and strategies and acting as the MV liaison contact for Emergency Services, Police and Security agencies on all relevant matters relating to MV.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The position is accountable for strategically assessing, minimising and managing the security and emergency risks to which MV is exposed, or may be exposed in the future. This will entail overseeing, drafting and advising on security risk management policies, procedures and strategies and acting as the MV liaison contact for Emergency Services, Police and Security agencies on all relevant matters relating to MV.
Skills and experience required for this position include:
- Suitable experience in strategically assessing, planning and managing security or risk responsibilities for a diverse quality driven organisation, preferably multi-site
- Experience in providing security and emergency management advice to senior levels of corporate or government organisations
- Experience in security risk management, detailed knowledge of corporate security practices and risk management standard ISO 31000:2009
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of security technology systems including access control and CCTV
- An understanding of CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design)
- Experience in a compliance driven security environment, with experience in development of quality focussed policies and procedures
- Familiarity and experience with policing and government liaison (Working knowledge of Australian Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF)
- Experience in leading complex and sensitive investigations of criminal activity, or inappropriate employee/contractor behaviour, requiring a thorough knowledge of Human Resource legislation, court, investigative and evidentiary procedure
- Experience in performing detailed security audits, developing tailored security solutions and reports
- Experience in managing large and remotely located security teams, and negotiating, managing and monitoring external security service level agreement contracts/contractors
- Large infrastructure project management experience
