Museums Victoria is seeking a Manager, Touring Exhibitions to provide leadership for the development and successful implementation of Museums Victoria’s temporary and incoming touring exhibitions program and develop a dynamic world-class and sustainable national and international touring strategy.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The position is accountable for the temporary and touring exhibitions program, leading the delivery of consistently high-quality exhibitions at Museums Victoria and other venues locally, nationally and internationally.
Skills and experience required for this position include:
- Extensive experience and record of achievement in managing travelling exhibitions (incoming and outbound) for a public facility such as museum or gallery
- Demonstrable creativity in enabling development of a broad and diverse public offer
- Extensive experience in scoping and planning large and complex projects, including business analysis, budgets and resources, and a record of leading staff to deliver the intended outputs.
- Demonstrable commercial awareness in negotiating exhibition tours and in generating a visitation and revenue-driven business plan.
- Well established networks, and experience in developing partnerships, advocacy and promoting at a high level.
- A demonstrated understanding of museum audiences and sound experience in identifying travelling exhibitions which are compelling to various audiences and generate revenue.
- Evidence of a leadership style that focuses of mentorship and personal development of staff and fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills, including evidence of managing performance, complex teams and networks
