Housed in one of Australia’s most prominent national heritage-listed buildings, the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House was the first museum in Australia dedicated to telling the story of the journey of our democracy. It seeks to provide a range of innovative exhibitions, tours, interpretation, education programs and public activities that will inspire and challenge visitors to explore democracy from its ancient roots to the present day and possible futures.

As part of a small team, working in a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for the implementation of strategies to secure and maintain beneficial partnerships that assist MoAD to achieve its objectives.  Also, assist in promoting the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) and its activities across the full communications spectrum.

The key duties of the position include:

  • Development of strategic partnership approaches including proposals and prospectus
  • Support the continued refinement of partnership structures and framework
  • Identify areas of MoAD business that can be offered for sponsorship
  • Research and identify potential partners, donors, sponsors, philanthropists, funding and grant opportunities
  • Develop and manage partnership contracts and MoUs including the delivery of agreed obligations eg: partnership activities and events
  • Support the development of partnership related grant applications and funding opportunities
  • Maintain and foster partner relationships including evaluation and reporting
  • Marketing and administration support where required.

Highly Desirable

  • Previous sales and marketing experience in the hospitality &, tourism sector, Public Service and/or Museums and Galleries sector is highly desirable

Eligibility

Employment with the Museum of Australian Democracy is subject to the following conditions

  • Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with MoAD, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • Security Clearance – The successful applicant will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance at the baseline level.
