The primary function of the role is to grow our profile, drive visitation and protect, promote and advance our reputation in curatorial and research excellence by developing and executing highly effective public relations and communications strategies. The Media and Communications Manager is part of the CaP leadership group alongside Audience Insights and Marketing.
About You
You will have a proven track record and success in all facets of public relations as well as senior experience in the execution and delivery of media and communications strategies and campaigns for internal and external audiences.
You are a sharp operator with a creative edge and exceptional organisational skills who functions with a high level of strategy, energy and passion and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously on time and to budget.
Notable skills and experiences
- Proven experience in senior media, promotion and communications roles.
- Developed working knowledge of local and national media markets across all platforms, channels and institutions coupled with networks amongst a broad range of public and private sectors and organisations.
- Exceptional communications and relationship skills to build strategic and positive relationships with media, government, Museum staff and other key internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly attuned to social, cultural and political trends with a developed understanding of their impact on the landscape we work in.
- Commitment to embody MV’s mission, values and workplace policies.
