Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking an experienced Media & Communications Officer (Touring & Special Events) to contribute to the Media and Communications team in maintaining a high-profile and strong reputation for Museums Victoria’s museums and activities across a broad range of media, stakeholders and in the wider community.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The primary responsibility of the Media & Communications Officer (Touring & Special Events) will be the development and execution of public relations programs, media strategies and stakeholder events which enhance the reputation and awareness of Museums Victoria among target audiences. This role operates within a networked organisation and the successful applicant will be expected to contribute across all of Museums Victoria’s museums and projects as required, however the role has a core focus on touring exhibitions and special events.

Notable skills and experiences:

The successful applicant will have relevant tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications, public relations, arts, or possess equivalent experience in one or more of these fields.
