The job opportunity
The Museum has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to join the Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs team as an APS6 Media Liaison Coordinator. The successful candidate will develop and implement media promotion for National Museum of Australia exhibitions, programs, acquisitions and events. The successful candidate will develop and implement media campaigns, draft media releases, provide journalists with text and images,  prepare media kits, organise media launches,  assist with developing social media content as required, assist the Marketing team with tasks as required,  help administer the Museum’s media monitoring programs, and respond to day-to-day media queries.

The key duties of the position include:

The successful candidate will have experience in the media or in public affairs (experience as a journalist highly regarded). You will understand the requirements of different forms of media, have strong media contacts, be a strong writer, be self-motivated, have experience in developing and implementing media strategies, be a strong multi-tasker in a fast-paced environment, and have strong interpersonal skills. Experience in  developing social media content highly regarded.
