Manager – Interpretive Planning and Development

Auckland Museum is a much-loved organisation at the centre of Auckland’s identity, committed to developing and sharing engaging content through its galleries, exhibitions, events and educational programmes.

This role is responsible for providing expert management and support of the exhibition interpretive planning team in the specialist areas of interpretation and audience advocacy across the exhibitions programme.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • be an excellent communicator with superior people management skills
  • have a postgraduate or tertiary qualification in humanities, science, design, communication, education, museum studies or other relevant fields of study
  • a minimum of five years’ experience developing and delivering complex and exemplary museum experiences
  • a deep understanding of museum interpretation and visitor advocacy.
