The Manager, Visitor and Commercial Services is a key strategic and operational role for the SA Museum and requires someone with vision, authority, financial acumen and a commitment to the highest standards of customer service. The position is responsible for raising revenue from commercial activities and for growing visitor numbers through providing an exceptional visitor experience. Reporting to the Deputy Director, Engagement, the Manager, Visitor and Commercial Services is responsible for the day-to-day management of the front of house and retail operations for the SA Museum and the delivery of superior customer service for Museum visitors in line with the SA Museum 2021-2025 Strategic Plan. The incumbent is also responsible for maximising opportunities for the Museum to increase its earned revenue from commercial operations by managing all Museum Retail operations including the Museum Shop, Hospitality and Venue Hire operations as well as ticketing and admissions income, merchandise and tourism products.

Special Conditions:

  • The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department’s Performance Management Program.
  • The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
  • Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
  • Some interstate travel involving overnight absences will be required.
  • This role requires a Working with Children Check.
  • This role requires a National Criminal History Check.
