We are seeking an enthusiastic team member to help us achieve our mission to enrich and enliven Queensland communities. Being a key member of the Information Technology Team, the successful applicant will provide network administration, specialist technical expertise and advice in relation to Queensland Museum’s communication network, security and associated services, including the implementation and testing of new services, and the management of existing services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform the functions of job planning, documentation and implementation for communication network services, including configuration, monitoring, incident analysis and deployment as well as maintaining a secure network environment.
- Application and technology management of Network and Wi-Fi Security, Firewall, Web, Azure and Antivirus Services, Cisco, , Citrix and Sophos Network systems, Microsoft and various Server Applications , DNS, monitoring and incident analysis;
- Carry out day-to-day operations of the Information Technology support area to provide an effective and efficient support service and operating environment to the Museum.
- Provide high-quality technical assistance and support, adhering to industry and departmental policies, standards, procedures and processes, in order to solve complex problems and maintain defined enterprise service levels;
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of information network and system polices, standards, procedures by preparing and contributing to oral and written technical information, administrative documentation, procedures and guidelines.
- Participate in, or lead, Queensland Museum Information Management and Information Technology projects including evaluating and minimising the business risk(s) involved and defining mitigation strategies;
- Support the team environment, maintain external relationships and develop professional knowledge of the Information Management and Information Technology industries and allied fields by sharing knowledge, attending training, user groups, trade seminars, and product launches so that organisational information systems and business processes can be proactively advanced;
- Contribute to the safety culture of QMN by reporting all incidents and hazards and ensuring work is undertaken in the safest way possible, following all QMN WHS policies/procedures and guidelines relevant to the job. Undertake all relevant responsibilities identified in the QMN WHS Accountabilities and Responsibilities Matrix.
While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role the ideal candidate will have Industry Qualifications in one or more of the following areas: CCNA or equivalent, knowledge of information technologies including: Wireless, Antivirus application, Networking, Routing and Switch infrastructure design and maintenance, such as Cisco and/or Meraki, Security and Firewall knowledge.
