Professor Suzanne Miller, CEO and Director Queensland Museum Network has been appointed as Chair of the Council of Australasian Museum Directors.

The Council of Australasian Museum Directors (CAMD) represents the leaders of the major national, state and regional museums across Australia and New Zealand.

Professor Miller said she is honoured to have the opportunity to help drive the CAMD agenda.

“CAMD is a peak body for the Museum sector across Australia and New Zealand, linking our collections, as well as the research that comes out of those collections.

“CAMD also enables us to work collaboratively with Museums across the pacific region to contribute to policy and protocols around some of the big issues facing our sector such as repatriation, ethics, and anti-seizure protections as well as core activities like collection storage, management and visitor experiences.

“I’m thrilled to have been appointed to lead CAMD for the next two years, and look forward to continuing the fine work of my predecessor, Dr Patrick Greene and that of my very talented and dedicated fellow Directors,” said Professor Miller.

The Chair is appointed by the CAMD executive committee for a two-year period and Professor Miller takes the helm from outgoing chair Dr Patrick Greene, CEO Museum Victoria.
