This role is an opportunity to work with a wide range of museum collections to fabricate and fit supports that keep our objects and taonga safe while they are on display.
As one of three mount-makers in the Object Support team, you will have a sound understanding of how to safely support objects and taonga, and a high level of technical skill in working with metal and timber, from fine detail to structural work. Care and precision is important in this role, as are excellent finishing skills. This role will work very closely with the wider collections team, so an ability to be flexible and co-operative is essential.
Previous museum or mount-making experience is desirable.
