The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a not-for profit community-based organisation that includes: Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, Sovereign Hill Hotel, AURA and Narmbool, the Australian Centre for Rare Trades and Arts and the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections. It cares for a nationally and internationally significant collection of over 150,000 objects and protects the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Victorian gold rush. We are an Australian tourism icon that attracts some 500,000 visitors annually.
The Outdoor Museum is of international renown as a living museum featuring rare trades, and programs and experiences that interpret a pivotal point in Australia’s history. In all, some 350 staff work to bring our goldrush story to life. They are supported by over 250 volunteers.
We have an exciting opportunity for a new team member to join us at Sovereign Hill in a unique and rewarding role!
About the role:
The Offsite Confectioner is responsible for assisting with the production and packaging of confectionery and food/drink products and associated administrative activities within the Confectionery factory whilst providing a high standard of customer service in a pleasant and enthusiastic manner. This is a full time position, working as part of the great team at Sovereign Hill.
Tasks will include:
- The production and packaging of boiled confectionery and other food/drink items
- Accurate receiving and dispense of orders, assisting with deliveries and stock control
- Maintaining cleaning of the premises in line with operating procedures
- Compliance with Food Safety Regulations
The successful candidate should have:
- An understanding and awareness of general food handling/safety requirements
- Outstanding communication and team work skills
- An ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
- An ability to work across flexible rosters, including weekends, public and school holidays.
A current Food Handling Certificate is preferred but not essential.
