Auckland Museum is an influential, much-loved organisation at the centre of Auckland’s identity, committed to outstanding management of its extensive collections and the permanent and volunteer staff who tell the Museum’s stories.

Online Cenotaph is the online gathering point for the personal and official memory of people who served for New Zealand Aotearoa.

This role has been created to check, collate and enter the extensive material collected by Museum staff and volunteers over a number of years into Online Cenotaph, accurately and according to the Museum’s standards for the database.

This content is part of the Museum’s digital collection, for a period of 11 months.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a library qualification or degree in a field relevant to the Museum’s activities
  • Be able to work systematically and accurately in the digital environment using established processes
  • Be passionate about working in a dynamic, fast-paced and lively organisation
  • Understand the principles of equal opportunities, diversity management and the Treaty of Waitangi as they relate to the Museum environment
