The Online Collections Information and Partnerships Manager will own and drive the next phase of evolution of the Museum’s online digital collection. This permanent and full time role will be responsible for managing all products that showcase the collection along with programmatic and scholarly content. This role will partner with museum leaders, curators and researchers and interface with developers, designers and visitor researchers to identify and define requirements for new product opportunities and to prioritise enhancements to existing online collection access. The Online Collections Information and Partnerships Manager will be expected to make sound investment and trade-off decisions to continuously improve the overall Collections website experience in the service of our users and the Museum’s mission.

To be successful in this role, you will offer:

  • Minimum five years’ experience associated with museum collection management and utilisation practices
  • Understanding of legislative and cultural frameworks pertaining to the release, use, restriction and protection of digital data, images and other content
  • Ability to effectively gather requirements, digging beyond requests to get to needs
  • Ability to determine the return on investment and advocate effectively for initiatives of greatest opportunity
  • Experience working with public APIs
  • Experience working with Open content or with the OpenGLAM community
  • Awareness of and thirst for innovative developments in GLAM sector
