Pacific artefacts online

The British Museum is putting thousands of artefacts from across the Pacific online, allowing Pacific Islands the chance to see treasures from their own histories.  For further information see abc news (20 January 2014) .

Museums in Australia  and New Zealand are also coping with the challenges of making their museums’ Pacific collections available online.  Further resources are required to continue this work.  For one  example of activities in this area see the Australian Museum’s Virtual Museum of the Pacific.
