The Museum has an exciting opportunity for a person with maritime knowledge and practical experience to join the Collection Care and Management Business Unit as a Manager to oversee the maritime operations of the Paddle Steamer Enterprise.

The key duties of the position include:

The position will reside in the Collection Care and Management business unit which primarily manages the maintenance and conservation of the vessel. However, this position will work closely with other business units across the Museum on matters of compliance, work health and safety, operator competencies, volunteer training, and will report regularly to the PSE Operations Committee, comprised of members of the Executive and senior staff from the relevant business units.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this vacancy, applicants must:

  • be an Australian citizen
  • undergo a number of pre-employment checks, including a police records check
  • hold and maintain a valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration.

Notes

The PSE Manager role will include variable seasonal attendance. During the steaming season (September to May) regular weekend and flexible weekday work would be required and work programs would be focused on operational (steaming) matters, including an observance role while under steam. In the off-season (June to August) the work program will be centered around administrative, compliance, training, and governance matters.
