The Australian Museum is located on the traditional homelands of the Gadigal people of the Eora nation. The Australian Museum acknowledges the Gadigal people as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land, sky and waterways, paying respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
The Australian Museum (AM) operates within the NSW Department of Enterprise, Trade & Investment, is the first museum in Australia and was founded in 1827. The AM provides access, engagement and scientific research to increase our understanding of natural history and culture, particularly of the Australasian region. The AM holds more than 21 million objects of biological, geological and cultural collections and develops programs, exhibitions and school and community education initiatives onsite, online and offsite.

About the role
This position supports the day-to-day coordination of the AM Partnerships Team. The Partnerships Coordinator ensures the timely delivery of contractual obligations, ensuring that AM partners gain the most benefit from their relationship with the AM. The Partnerships Coordinator also assists the Partnerships Manager with developing new business opportunities and a strong pipeline of prospective partners for the Museum.
About you
We are seeking a skilled Partnerships Coordinator to assist with the management of AM partner accounts to ensure contractual benefits are delivered and positive relationships are fostered.
You will have:
- Excellent communication and writing skills, preferably with copywriting and email marketing experience
- Computer literacy in Microsoft office suit products essential
- Excellent organisational skills with competency in priority setting and managing multiple tasks
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, preferably with previous experience in a partnerships, marketing or high-level administrative role.
- Knowledge and passion for the Sydney arts, events and cultural landscape desirable.
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, sales, marketing, partnerships and event management or a related field and/or equivalent work experience
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience in CRM database management, Tessitura preferable.
- Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate delivery of projects and/or events on time and to plan, ensuring aims, objectives and KPIs are met.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, sustainable relationships with partners, prospects and colleagues.
- Current knowledge and working experience to deliver the Key Accountabilities and perform to the Focus Capabilities outlined in this Role Description
