The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a not-for profit community-based organisation that includes: Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, Sovereign Hill Hotel, AURA and Narmbool and soon to be opened Australian Centre for Rare Trades and Arts and the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections. It cares for a nationally and internationally significant collection of over 150,000 objects and protects the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Victorian gold rush.

We are an Australian tourism icon that attracts some 500,000 visitors annually. The Outdoor Museum is of international renown as a living museum featuring rare trades, and programs and experiences that interpret a pivotal point in Australia’s history.

In all, some 350 staff work to bring our goldrush story to life. They are supported by over 250 volunteers.

The Role

Due to a recent redeployment, we are seeking a payroll guru who excels in all things payroll for a fixed 12 month contract.  Working closely with the Head of Human Resources and the Chief People Officer, the role is critical is processing the weekly payroll and HR administrative functions including monthly reporting. To be considered for this role, you will  need to demonstrate:

  • Prior substantial experience in payroll and experience interpreting and applying industrial instruments such as Awards and Enterprise Agreements
  • Experience with computerised rostering and payroll systems is essential (our payroll system is Affinity and our time and attendance system is Human Force/Time Target
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Advanced skills across Microsoft suite – Word, Excel, Powerpoint

The role is advertised full-time, but we are open to explore flexible working arrangements for the right applicant.
