The job opportunity
The Museum’s People and Culture team has two positions available and is looking for enthusiastic and client-focused team members interested in Health and Wellbeing and/or Recruitment.
The incumbents will also have opportunity to contribute to a range of programs at the Museum, including diversity and inclusion, employee relations, performance management and capability development. The roles provides an opportunity for human resource practitioners to develop and build their generalist skills in HR policy development and implementation, business improvement and project management.
The positions will provide secretariat support for a range of agency committees relevant to the role and support the Head of People and Culture, Senior People and Culture Advisor and Manager Work Health and Safety as necessary.
The key duties of the position include:
People and Culture Advisor – Wellbeing and Work Health and Safety (ongoing) key responsibilities include:
- planning and coordination of the Museum’s annual employee wellbeing program and initiatives
- monitoring the work health and safety email inbox and responding to client enquiries
- collating and reporting WHS incidents and hazard assessment reporting
- undertaking workplace inspections and workplace station assessments
- coordinating and undertaking Secretariat duties for the Museum’s Workplace Health and Safety Committee
- providing administrative support to the Museum’s workplace health and safety manager and WHS program, rehabilitation case managers and Workplace Support Officer network.
People and Culture Advisor – Recruitment (12 months non-ongoing with potential for ongoing) key responsibilities include:
- supporting the Senior Recruitment Advisor with end-to-end recruitment processing from advertising through to onboarding new starters
- monitoring the recruitment and HR contact email inboxes and responding to client enquiries
- coordinating the Museum’s work experience and internship programs
- monitoring and reporting probation and employment screening outcomes
- coordinating the Museum’s induction program
- processing invoices for the recruitment function and broader People and Culture team.

The successful candidates will have demonstrated knowledge, experience and interest in human resources.
They will be flexible and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow. They will have the ability to identify issues and develop solutions to problems. They will also possess an inquisitive mind, with the ability to use initiative and judgement and be motivated to seek opportunities for business improvements. An ability to research and deliver results on time and to a high standard is necessary.
The successful candidate must demonstrate integrity and be able to work within a team environment and autonomously.
