People & Organisation Business Partner (Parental Leave cover)

Auckland Museum is a much-loved culture and heritage organisation at the heart of Auckland’s identity, committed to developing and sharing engaging content through its galleries, exhibition, events and educational programmes. We are Auckland’s home of commemoration as well as the country’s oldest research institution and a major tourist destination.
The People and Organisation team at Auckland Museum has an opportunity for a motivated and experienced People and Organisation Business Partner to join the team on a 12-month fixed term parental leave cover. You will come with a strong generalist human resources background to deliver comprehensive business partnership to the Museum’s line managers in the following areas:
- Providing expert advice to Museum employees and stakeholders aligned with the Museum’s strategic goals, values and policies;
- Employment relations including participation in areas such as; collective bargaining processes, support to managers in managing employment issues, workforce planning and functional analysis;
- Facilitation of presentations and workshops;
- Implementation of a training learning and development programme;
- Managing or assisting with special projects;
- Managing recruitment and selection;
- Administrative and policy support to assist with the review, development and implementation of effective People Management systems and processes.
To be successful in this role you will have exceptional customer service and influencing skills, strong technical HR/Legislation knowledge, 3-4 years of HR experience and a genuine commitment to excellence. As a vital member of the People and Organisation team, you will need to be a flexible and enthusiastic team player, be able to respond to conflicting demands, prioritise work and meet deadlines. An exceptional communicator, you will establish strong working relationships with a diverse range of colleagues and co-ordinate with the workload of others. Your strong knowledge of NZ employment legislation, coupled with a relevant tertiary qualification will equip you to demonstrate professionalism, expertise and sound judgement.
