Sovereign Hill is a dynamic group of museums presenting the mining, social, cultural and environmental heritage of the Ballarat region and its impact on Australia’s history.
The Creative and Design Division incorporates the Creative, Graphics and Design Team as well as the Times Office and Red Hill Photographic Rooms which is located in the “Main Street” of the outdoor museum and depicts a photographic shop from the 1850s.
The Photographer, using digital photography, is responsible for taking appropriate individual and group photos, costumed school photos, special group photos and onsite function photos for Sovereign Hill usage. They must also assist visitors with enquiries, costume dressing, purchasing decisions and processing sales transactions with the Red Hill Photographic Rooms.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU MUST HAVE:
- Experience using digital photography and software packages
- Experience within a customer service or retail environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Excellent cash handling and POS skills
- Ability to work across a flexible roster including weekends, public holidays and school holidays
- A certificate II or III in Retail would be highly regarded
