About the Role
The Collection Manager, Palaeontology is responsible for increasing the impact of science at the Australian Museum by managing, developing and strategically planning for collection-based infrastructure at the Australian Museum and engaging diverse audiences in the broader fields of science as part of AMRI.

You will be paid a competitive annual salary $121,845 – $128,222, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation (currently 12%) and annual leave loading.
About you
We are seeking a palaeontologist with experience in collection management.
You will have:
- Experience in curation and management of Palaeontology collections including databasing.
- Well-developed skills and knowledge relevant to explaining the value and importance of natural history collections including giving informal tours of the collections to a range of audiences.
- Well-developed knowledge and understanding of the application of Work Health and Safety (WH&S) legislation and regulations.
- Adequate knowledge and experience to deliver the Key Accountabilities and perform to the Focus Capabilities outlined in this Role Description.

Essential Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in biological or geological sciences, preferably specialising in Palaeontology.
- Hold a current NSW C Class Driver’s licence (or equivalent). This role involves shared responsibility for transporting collections and conducting site visits to the Museum’s Paleontology collection storage facilities in regional NSW locations
