ABOUT THE POSITION:

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Content Studio, the Casual Digital Video Officer supports the delivery of innovative and technically robust digital production across a range of ad hoc projects.Collaborating with Digital Content Studio team members and Museums Victoria stakeholders, the role creates engaging, audience-focused digital stories that meet Museums Victoria’s editorial standards and contribute to strong engagement across Museums Victoria’s digital channels.

SOME OF THE KEY DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Delivering high-quality digital video production services, including filming, editing, animation, and sound recording, in line with project briefs and Museums Victoria editorial standards.
  • Creating and project managing video and multimedia content for exhibitions, digital interactives, and cross-platform projects.
  • Providing specialist creative and technical advice, and working with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to deliver production outcomes.
  • Managing multiple projects concurrently to ensure digital assets are delivered on time and to specification.
  • Collaborating with project, marketing, and communications teams to produce engaging, audience-focused content for digital and social platforms.
  • Maintaining best-practice production workflows, including asset management, archiving, and compliance with Museums Victoria policies and relevant legislation.

 

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE

  • Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality digital video production, applying sound judgement and technical skill across filming, editing, and post-production activities.
  • Proven ability to plan, develop, and deliver digital video and multimedia content from brief to publication, meeting project objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Strong capability in applying contemporary production tools, systems, and workflows to deliver best-practice digital content outcomes.
  • Well-developed organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver concurrent work within agreed timeframes.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working constructively with internal teams, stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to provide informed creative and technical advice in a dynamic project environment.
  • An understanding of governance requirements, including working within organisational policies, editorial standards, and relevant legislation.
  • An interest in, or understanding of, the role of museums and cultural institutions in engaging audiences through digital storytelling and public-facing content.
