Job Description

As a key member of the Production Services Team, you will be responsible for the production of exhibition displays, props, interactives, associated furniture and fixtures, object supports and mounts, and gallery maintenance. This is a hands-on role that plays a vital part in bringing our exhibitions to life and ensuring the highest standards of presentation and care for our collections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabrication of high-quality display mounts, props, interactives and exhibition furniture
  • Installation and maintenance of gallery displays
  • Safe handling and display of museum objects in line with best practice
  • Collaboration with curators, designers, and other technical staff

 

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience with a range of fabrication methods, materials, and technologies
  • Proficiency in fine metal working, such as TIG welding, brazing or solder work
  • Relevant gallery production and installation experience, ideally in a museum or cultural institution
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Fusion 360, or SolidWorks
  • Strong understanding of museum collection care and object handling
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
  • A current full driver’s licence
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for working in a dynamic, cross-functional team
