The Head of Production is responsible for leading and managing all production elements for the development and delivery of exhibitions, programs and events across all sites including Powerhouse Parramatta, Powerhouse Castle Hill, Powerhouse Ultimo and Sydney Observatory.  The role is responsible for the technical, production and workshop teams and ensures the Powerhouse is at the forefront of contemporary museum practice.

Powerhouse Museum is located at the intersection of arts, design, science, and technology and plays a critical role in engaging communities with contemporary ideas and issues. It is the custodian of more than half a million objects of national and international significance and is considered one of the finest and most diverse collections in Australia. We are undertaking a landmark $1.2 billion infrastructure renewal program, spearheaded by the creation of the new museum, Powerhouse Parramatta; expanded research and public facilities at Powerhouse Castle Hill; the heritage revitalisation of the iconic Powerhouse Ultimo; and the ongoing operation of Sydney Observatory.

The Powerhouse Museum acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands where we work and live. We pay respect to Ancestors and Elders past, present and future. We recognise and learn from the strengths of the First Nations peoples of New South Wales and their continuing connection to, and unique cultural and spiritual relationship with Country.

We welcome and encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTI+, people with disability, people with caring responsibilities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans and those living in regional locations.
