About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing, the Health Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace for more than 350 staff and 250 volunteers across Sovereign Hill Museums Association.
Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee incident, hazard, and corrective action management processes, ensuring timely follow-up, investigation support, reporting, and closure of actions.

Maintain and continually improve SHMA’s Safety Management System, including system administration, reporting, user management, records management, and data integrity.

Coordinate workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, and compliance monitoring activities across multiple operational areas.

Assist in the development, implementation and review of health and safety procedures, systems, and documentation.

Coordinate and support delivery of internal training programs, including emergency management and first aid.

Coordinate and administer workers compensation claims and Return to Work programs, including injury management, suitable duties planning and liaison with injured workers, treating practitioners and insurers.
Skills & Qualifications

Previous experience in a health and safety or compliance-based role.

Sound understanding of Occupational Health and Safety and Workers Compensation legislation.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.

Experience using safety management systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to analyse information, prepare reports and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
