We are seeking a creative individual who can work effectively within an extended team to ensure exhibition design meets customer and brief requirements and scheduled time frames. Additionally, we are seeking an individual with strong skills in 3D modelling programs, particularly with SolidWorks.
In this role you will:
- Ideate concepts exploring creative ways to meet messaging requirements in development of exhibit briefs.
- Prepare design concepts, including developing mood boards, sketching, prototyping and 3D modelling to meet design requirements and affirm design viability.
- Ensure all design concepts, including drawings and prototypes, are approved at key project dates to ensure progression towards key deadlines.
- Ensure that exhibits meet Australian standards to ensure accessibility for all customers.
- Assist in negotiating with external suppliers to obtain required parts and services within budget and timeframe.
- Conduct appropriate research into materials and technologies for successful implementation in design and documentation.
- Ensure exhibit documentation is maintained and updated for assembly manuals, repair, maintenance and potential future reproduction
Other skills and experience required include:
- Design software proficiency with 3D modelling programs such as SolidWorks, DraftSight and SketchUp
- Experience with the Adobe software suite
- Demonstrated experience designing and documenting concepts and construction elements.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, negotiation and working with a wide team to achieve project goals and deadlines.
- Knowledge of materials and fabrication techniques.
Qualifications and Licences include:
- Tertiary qualifications in Industrial Design, Engineering, Architecture or similar.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a similar role.
- National Police Check or the ability to obtain one.
