Powerhouse

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Preparator to play a key role in the successful delivery of exhibitions and programs across our diverse sites. This hands-on leadership role supports Production Managers in planning and delivering high-quality museum experiences, while supervising staff, contractors, and workshop operations. This position is responsible for construction our Exhibition components such as furniture, walls and other structures, coordinating staff and resources within the Production Workshop, providing leadership and technical expertise across the disciplines of Workshop. Working closely with Production Managers, the Lead Preparator ensures the coordination of the construction, fabrication, and installation of exhibitions displays which meet international museum standards while upholding best practices in conservation and workplace health and safety. The Lead Preparator will bring strong experience in carpentry or cabinet making, with experience in other areas highly valued (for the temporary full time role). Talent Pools for similar future roles in metal work or boiler making, painting, and mountmaking may arise over the next 18 months (ongoing or temporary)
