ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Manager, Digital Platforms plays a critical leadership role in shaping and delivering Museums Victoria’s online presence, which attracts more than 10 million visits annually across its flagship websites and digital products. As both a product owner and delivery team manager, this role is responsible for driving the strategic vision, operations and service delivery of Museums Victoria’s websites and online platforms.
The position leads a multidisciplinary team spanning content, design, development and project management, ensuring digital products meet organisational goals and deliver high-quality, customer-centred experiences. A key focus is the development of channel strategies and the transition of platforms to cloud-based services, while fostering strong internal and external partnerships. Success in this role will contribute to continued growth in digital engagement and transactions, extending Museums Victoria’s reach beyond its physical sites.
Some of the key duties include:
- Driving the strategic product vision for Museums Victoria’s websites and online products, including development and management of a rolling product, operations and channel plan.
- Leading and managing a multidisciplinary team responsible for website delivery, online operations and services.
- Managing the lifecycle of digital products and services, ensuring continuous optimisation based on customer insights, business needs and data analysis.
- Overseeing multiple projects of varying complexity using effective project management and task allocation systems.
- Providing expert strategic, technical and evidence-based advice on digital technologies, online services and customer experience trends.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders across the organisation on digital initiatives, opportunities and operational performance.
- Ensuring compliance with organisational policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
The successful applicant will have:
- Significant experience as a digital product owner and team manager, with a strong track record in planning and managing online operations and development within a complex, customer-focused organisation.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary digital teams, including UX/UI design, development, content production and project management.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Asana to support delivery, governance and reporting of digital products and services.
- A deep interest in digital engagement trends, customer journeys, emerging technologies and data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders and communicate complex digital concepts clearly.
