This is Pool Recruitment process with one (1) Fixed-term, Full-time vacancy available for immediate filling for a period of 12 months until 30 June 2027 with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency. Suitable candidates will remain in the pool for a period of 18 months.

About the role

The Media and Publicity Officer supports the Manager Communications and Media by developing, implementing, and monitoring media, social media, and communications plans and activities across the WA Museum’s three regional locations and the WA Museum Boola Bardip in Perth.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Assist the Manager, Communications and Media, with developing and implementing WA Museum communications, media, and publicity plans.
  • Develop, deliver and monitor media and publicity activity – including social media – for exhibitions, public programs, events and museum research projects, in collaboration with relevant Museum departments,
  • Successfully follow processes for implementing and maintaining successful media and publicity campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and the media.
  • Other duties as required with respect to the scope of the position.
